Tennessee Postsecondary Evaluation and Analysis Research Lab

The Study

The Tennessee Postsecondary Evaluation and Analysis Research Lab (TN-PEARL) is a research partnership between the University of Tennessee Boyd Center for Business and Economic Research, Vanderbilt University, and the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. Now in its third year, TN-PEARL endeavors to study how state, local, and institutional policies raise postsecondary attainment in Tennessee using a rich, longitudinal database spanning K-12, postsecondary, and workforce domains.

Research Responsibilities
Graduate Research Assistant | Summer 2017-Summer 2020

 Data Analysis and Dissemination

  • Wrote literature reviews for lab studies. 
  • Created memos on research findings and project updates for external partners.
  • Conducted data analysis for lab studies, including combining and cleaning datasets, producing longitudinal descriptive tables and figures, and conducting statistical analysis. 
  • Project lead on two studies as part of doctoral dissertation (see working papers below).
